Video Production

All production companies have their strengths, some in post or maybe graphic design but at Spring Street Studios, it’s production. We have shot in every climate and location, locally, around the US and worldwide. Just like the Marines, we shoot on land, in the air and at sea. It takes a creative eye to lense the right shot, to know what the director or client is not only asking for…but demanding. We shoot on HDV, BetaSp, DVCam, DVC PRO50 using the finest offerings from Sony and Panasonic. At Spring Street Studios, we offer both location shooting and in-studio along with a full complement of grip accessories to enhance each and every production.
And we’re as creative with our production equipment as we are with the images we shoot. Once asked by the "born American" television series to design a “bikecam” for a shoot with the legendary Gary Fisher, we came up a design overnight and the results were amazing.

Creativity mixed with personal endurance in waiting for that critical shot, whether it’s a sunrise, sea creature poking it’s head out of the reef or just your CEO trying to get his script straight…we’re there.

Post Production

"State of the Art" is a tired and overused phrase…but still valid in describing the post here at Spring Street Studios. We constantly upgrade and change as new techniques and equipment are introduced into the post arena. You'll find at Spring Street Studios we are firmly a Mac House using the latest offering from Apple like the Final Cut Studio Suite. These include Final Cut Pro 5, DVD Studio Pro 4, Motion 2 and the new Soundtrack stand-alone product. Of course the Adobe product suite is always in use and we don't completely discriminate against the Windows side as we also are well versed in Power point and other Microsoft offerings. We currently offer one full online FCP5 editing suite with uncompressed BetaCam SP, HDV, DVCam and can also ingest DVC Pro 50 upon request. Naturally the world of HD is upon us and our latest acquisition of HDV is complete…you gotta see it to believe it!

Encoding/Compression/Authoring:

Our motto here at Spring Street Studios used to be…”Shoot, Edit, Dub”. That used to say it all…but over the years that’s seen a bit of modification. Now it’s more like…”Design, Write, Plan, Shoot, Ingest, Offline, Edit, Online, Compress, Encode, Burn…and then maybe Dub”. Delivery and distribution are as important to every media production as the very first steps in pre-planning. You have to know where and how you’re going to deliver your production and we can make that happen at Spring Street Studios. We can put your final program on tape (name your poison…BetaSp,HDV, DVC Pro, DV Cam, VHS, Digital 8, Hi8, etc), or compress, encode and author a custom DVD, or simply burn it to a DVD. We can also compress, encode and burn it to CD using nearly all of the codecs available today. Want your program to play on your web site or email it to clients, done. Like that large burger franchise says…”You can have it your way"

Underwater Production

Get Wet…Stay Wet. That’s a way of life here at Spring Street Studios. Jerry Pentin was the Director of Photography for the television series “Destination Diving” and shot around the world in places and climates like the South Pacific and the Arctic. Jerry has been diving since 1973 and is a Master Diver. He is also a tech diver having been certified in Nitrox diving and is Rebreather certified as well. We currently shoot with our Amphibico VX1000 Housing using the Sony VX-1000 DV Cam camera merged with the Light and Motion HID Light Package. We also offer the Amphibico 100 degree Aspheric Lense to give that “big water” look…you have to see it to believe it. Our latest acquisition is the Sony HVR-Z1 HDV Camera along with Amphibico’s Phenom FXZ1 Digital Marine Housing…it also incorporated the Aspheric lens technology…another “gotta see it to believe it!”
